Happy 2015 ! * !
We have so much inspiration, style, love and fashion to bring to you all this year. We hope that this year is your year and our year, and that our world is a calm, giving and stylish one (with good shoes).
This January has had a few special events in it for me and I thought I'd share. It's not everyday you turn 40, but now that box is ticked for me. It definitely feels like a new era has dawned and I'm looking forward to many new starts. My son Casper (my baby) starts school on Friday as well. That feels like the end of an era. So I am both looking forward to a new beginning - the post-40 one - but mourning no longer having children at home, little babies, tiny fingers. It's life, and it's rich tapestry making me think about the big things this month.
It is also the month that Australian Instyle Magazine published a 10 page feature, yep 10 pages on my humble home in Rozelle and I. So, that was fun and it marked this period for me forever. Thank you Kirsten, Chris, Prue.
Here it is for you to check out:
And now to fashion - because I know I'm only allowed so much soppiness. You'll be pleased to know that we have started receiving a daily onslaught of boxes to fill up our online and bricks and mortar store for the new season. It's like Christmas, again, exciting.
Expect new Lulu Yasmin and Magali Pascal (the perfect pieces to float around in while the temperatures are still high, from Bali) as well as Gypsy 05, Blue Life and Black Orchid, the latest Spring Collections straight from the USA landing within a week. The Black Orchid destructed denim pencil skirt is a killer. To channel the seasons boyfriend shirts and these looks, I reckon we'll all need one.
Wear with leggings and boots mid winter.. maybe a real pop of legging colour? Oooh ahhh. Or take the look to work with a Blank USA Denim black pencil skirt, also just around the corner arriving in Feb. It's all about the pencil skirt for AW 2015 and the northern hemisphere's SS 2015. I heart pencil skirts, can you tell?
In terms of colour expect a lot of blue: I'm talking royal, navy, dirty washed out greyish blue and even some paisley blue prints and the ever lovely blue tie-dye. It is a colour that I'm pleased is so in season, it's so flattering and timeless.
Also lots of monochromatic black and white around and in-store - because it just works, is timeless and always flattering. You'll find that creams, pinks and nudes are again a staple colour for the season and making a bit of a surprise splash for AW2015 is Malaga (you will see a lot of this colour around). It's a deep wine colour that is Pantone's colour of the year.
You heard it here first kids.
Love and light,
Andi (now 40 years old) and the CB team xx
