2nd last day in Paris - Day 8
Posted on 28 January 2014
I've been a busy busy bee finding new fashion and home-wares for Casa Boheme. I can relax a little now that I've sourced away to my hearts content over the last four days - I can, hand-on-heart say that we have stock coming!
I have sourced some really gorgeous..bedlinen, soaps, towels, perfumes, bath gels and lotions and potions, bowls, candles (galore), throws, blankets, leather hand bags and purses, accessories, Moroccan cushions wedding blankets, tea tables and poufs, jewellery boxes, tableware, rugs, bath mats, lanterns, trinkets, baskets, AND SO MUCH Jewellery and FASHION.
I am really excited now that it is starting to come together.
Interestingly, I went for lots of products that have a recycled element and tread softly on our earth or are made by remote villagers in far flung places through ethical trade practices. I loved rugs for instance made in India with left over leather from the shoe and handbag factories. They were beautiful and somehow using by-products so craft-fully and creatively felt good to me.
I also went to fashion shows here in Paris. Yes I had to pinch myself.. a lot.
This was the Paris Pret-a-Porter show (ready to wear fashion). It was the pre-fall show so a lot of the clothing was very heavy and reminded me how different Australia is to Europe in this way - we don't have a need for all this heavy clothing. But there were of course quite a few gems in this show that took my breath away and I placed orders immediately.
One I placed was on label Chan Lu... This US label I knew from their jewellery line but had not seen the fashion line before. It was just gorgeous and perfect for out warmer neck-of-the-woods. Kaftans, kimono's, sequin bras to wear under T-back tops... so cute!
... And so much pretty jewellery I couldn't stop myself from placing more orders than I intended!
This line had gorgeous fine silver and gold pieces hand made in a work shop in Provence. They were so elegant and contemporary. Can't wait to get them on, literally.
